Aurora Health Care is inviting everyone to wear red this coming Friday to show your support for women with heart disease.
This is a part of the Go Red for Women campaign, which aims to spread awareness about heart disease in women.
In a news release, Aurora noted that more than 60 million women in the U.S. are living with some form of heart disease, and that is the number one killer of females in the country.
In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that heart disease is responsible for one in every five female deaths.
Aurora does note that, in most cases, it is preventable with changes in diet and exercise.
Quitting smoking also helps people reduce their risk.
