A Manitowoc man is facing charges after three members of the staff at a Manitowoc middle school reported some potential abuse.
The school resource officer met with the staff Wednesday morning (January 24th), which included a special education teacher, a school counselor, and the school nurse.
The teacher noticed a student was acting differently that day and asked them what was bothering them.
While the student initially tried to conceal the incident, they eventually showed the teacher an injury he sustained the night before.
The student then revealed that a 37-year-old man who lived in the home had “pinned” them to the ground after an argument about what was being served for dinner.
While interviewing the man, he said that the child, whose age was redacted, had been yelling in their mother’s face, leading to him pulling the child back and holding them on the ground while they calmed down.
The mother was interviewed as well, and noted that the suspect had been physical with the child in the past.
The suspect was arrested on a charge of Physical Abuse of a Child.
