The Wisconsin State Assembly is scheduled to vote on updated rules for strip searches in schools.
The proposed plan expands strip searches to include students down to their underwear and clarifies the circumstances under which someone can order a student to disrobe.
The changes come in response to an incident where a superintendent near Green Bay ordered high school girls to strip down to their underwear for a vape cartridge search.
The superintendent could not be charged due to a gap in Wisconsin law regarding underwear searches in schools.
