Wisconsin lawmakers are considering investing over five million dollars to address childhood obesity in the state.
The Speaker’s Task Force on Childhood Obesity released a report outlining recommendations, including plans to allocate five million dollars for childhood obesity prevention and management programs.
Another proposal suggests spending approximately half a million dollars to assist parents on food stamps in purchasing more fruits and vegetables.
The report highlights obesity rates of 10% in children aged two to five, 15% in six to 11-year-olds, and 18% in 12 to 17-year-olds in Wisconsin.
