Two bills authored by an Eastern Wisconsin legislator have passed in the Assembly.
The first bill, written by Representative Paul Tittl of Manitowoc, looks to raise the limit of personal property obtained in prison from $75 to $150.
Tittl tells Seehafer News that the bill stemmed from a conversation with a constituent whose son was in the correctional system.
She wanted to give her son a bible but couldn’t because it cost $115.
The second bill aims to enable adoptive parents to receive pre-adoption training online rather than in person.
Tittl said of that measure, “This bill is going to help out aspiring foster parents in our state by cutting out the travel to become parents.”
Both bills will now go before the full Senate.
