
The Manitowoc Lincoln girls basketball team poured in 39 points in the second half last night to secure a 66-50 home win over Green Bay Preble.
The matchup was close through the first half, with the Ships holding a 27-25 lead at the break, but then Grace Fruzen exploded for 11 points in the second half to help pull out the 16-point win.
Fruzen led all scorers at the JFK Fieldhouse, netting 19, while teammates Laurin Hamann added 17, including going 6 for 7 from the free throw line, and Kendall Schmitz added 10 points, eight of which came from the charity stripe.
The Hornets had one player in double figures, Helena Paplham, who netted 17.
The Ships improve to 5-7 on the year and are back at it tonight as they invade Sheboygan South.
