The police chief of a western Wisconsin town is confronting OWI charges following a collision involving a city-issued vehicle last week.
The State Patrol is overseeing the investigation into Eleva Police Chief Patrick McKillip.
Prosecutors in Trempealeau County formally filed OWI charges on Monday, stemming from a crash just outside the police department last Thursday.
Details about the specific circumstances of the collision, injuries, and whether the chief has been placed on leave by Eleva authorities remain undisclosed.
Chief McKillip is scheduled to appear in court in April to address the OWI charge.
