A local branch of the American Legion is inviting everyone out to a darts tournament this weekend to help veterans take the trip of a lifetime.
The Flights for a Flight event is scheduled for this Saturday at Shadows Bar in School Hill, although their address is technically 12215 Marken Road in Kiel.
Sign-in will begin at noon, with the darts starting to fly at 1:00 p.m.
The proceeds will go to benefit Old Glory Honor Flight, which takes veterans on free trips to Washington D.C. to see the monuments.
There are actually numerous ways you can contribute, even if you don’t want to throw darts.
While Scott’s Vending is donating $10 per entrant, the 50/50 raffle proceeds go to the Honor Flight, and those in attendance will have the opportunity to send a photo and a card to one of our nation’s heroes who will be taking the flight.
The North American Dart Organization is a co-sponsor of the event along with American Legion Post 477 of St. Nazianz.
