There was a major traffic backup in Brown County yesterday (January 9th) after a cattle trailer overturned.
According to the Department of Transportation, the crash occurred on I-41 near De Pere in the early morning hours.
The trailer was carrying 32 cattle, four of which died upon impact.
The remaining 28 were loaded into trucks and taken to their final destination, which was JBS.
Crews remained on site for several hours, wrangling up the cattle and getting the trailer upright.
It was eventually towed away.
The driver and his dog suffered minor injuries but were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and it’s not clear what exactly led up to it.
