The City of Kenosha and areas west of I-94 have experienced nine overdose deaths within a recent 12-day period, according to the Kenosha County Medical Examiner.
Three of these overdoses occurred on December 30.
The substances involved include fake prescription pills, methamphetamines, cocaine, and other drugs.
Toxicology reports, expected in the coming months, will provide further insights into the causes of these deaths.
Kenosha County Public Health is actively distributing NARCAN and fentanyl testing strips to help prevent overdoses.
