
A domestic violence call escalated into a dangerous standoff on the northwest side of Milwaukee, resulting in a police officer being shot.
Responding to reports of a man with a gun at a residence on West Fairmount, officers were met with gunfire, injuring one officer.
The tactical team was deployed, leading to the safe removal of four children from the house, and the eventual arrest of the suspect.
The family claims the suspect has a history of domestic violence and had assaulted the children’s mother earlier that day.
Additionally, the number of shootings in Milwaukee continues to rise in the new year, with four individuals shot on Tuesday.
A double shooting near 28th and Weil involved an exchange of gunfire with unknown suspects, resulting in two injuries.
Another shooting occurred about an hour and a half later near 27th and Ruby, and a third took place at 37th and Florist around 8 p.m. No arrests have been made in connection with these incidents.
