A western Wisconsin resident, Stephen Jenkins, will not face trial despite pleading guilty to child pornography charges in July.
A federal judge recently deemed Jenkins unfit for trial, sparing him from additional punishment.
Instead, the court will closely monitor his status, leaving the possibility for prosecutors to refile charges.
Jenkins has prior sex crime convictions from 2005 and 2006 in Utah.
