Dorothy Ida Herrmann, age 93, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life peacefully while surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.
Dorothy was born on July 5, 1930 in Manitowoc to the late John and Alma (Klingholz) Hopf. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1948. On August 9, 1949, Dorothy married Herbert E. Herrmann at the former Holy Innocents Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on July 29, 2013. In 1968, Dorothy began working in the laboratory at Branch Cheese Company from where she retired in 1992. She enjoyed doing many crafts and was a proud member of the Branch Homemakers. Dorothy had a fond place in her heart for Lake Michigan. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Manitowoc.
Survivors include Dorothy’s four children, Jerry (Nancy) Herrmann, Francis Creek; Tom (Barbara) Herrmann, Manitowoc; Diane Zingler, Manitowoc; and Beverly (Louis Osswald) Herrmann, Hubertus; seven grandchildren, Tammy Herrmann, Tracy (Dick) Lewis, Alison (Brendan) Farrell, Sara (Paul) Kinsella, Erica (Dan) Haven, Tim (Jara) Zingler, and Eric (Rachel) Zingler; nine great grandchildren, Grace and Claire Lewis, Tate Farrell, Kaitlynn and Kannon Kinsella, Everett Haven, and Benjamin, Lily and Sophia Zingler; also other relatives and her many good friends at Felician Village. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma Hopf; husband, Herbert Herrmann; three brothers, Donald, William and John Hopf; and sister, Harriet Schneider.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Saturday, December 30, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. A luncheon for family and friends will then be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
