Those driving south through Manitowoc County last night were forced to take a detour.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office closed down a stretch of I-43 south of County Road C through to County Road XX as they cleared a traffic crash.
While no additional details have been released by the Department, citizens have reported seeing a helicopter land near the site.
First responders from the area, including the Newton Firefighters, were called into action to provide traffic control, as southbound traffic was rerouted using Highways C, 42, and XX.
