Kenneth Herrera, a pharmacist from Crawford County, has been sentenced to a year and one day in prison for purchasing monkey torture videos online.
Federal prosecutors state that Herrera directed an individual in Indonesia to harm macaque monkeys in specific ways and paid for videos depicting the abuse.
Judge William Conley described the videos as “abhorrent” during the sentencing.
