A Sheboygan County man is facing charges after a home in Sheboygan Falls caught fire.
Sheboygan County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in the N6100 block of Sunset Avenue at around 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday on a report of a man violating a protective order.
The female victim told authorities that the man had attacked her, destroyed property, and threatened to burn down her home.
When authorities arrived, they saw the suspect dumping gas inside the residence and light it when they entered.
The man was detained, but not before the fire had grown substantially.
Multiple fire crews arrived on the scene and put out the fire, which was said to have caused major damage.
The suspect is facing charges of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Battery, and Criminal Damage to property, while the victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, is being aided by the American Red Cross.
