A Sheboygan County man has died after he fell into a brush fire.
The Sheriff’s Department was called to a home in the Town of Russel just before 2:30 last Friday afternoon.
The victim’s wife told authorities that her 84-year-old husband had been burning brush and fell into the fire.
He was said to be badly burned and jumped into a nearby pond in an attempt to quell the pain.
The unnamed man was flown to a burn center for treatment but, a day later, was pronounced dead.
No additional information has been released.
