Not only did the UW Green Bay women’s basketball team go down to Chicago and pick up a win, but they also helped their coach surpass a major milestone.
The Phoenix’s 64-56 win over the UIC Flames was head coach Kevin Borseth’s 800th in his career.
The contest was knotted at 25 at the half, but UWGB came out hot in the 3rd quarter, nearly doubling their score with 22 in that stanza, and held on for the eight-point win.
Natalie McNeal led all scorers with 19 for the Phoenix while Jasmine Kondrakiewicz added 14, and Bailey Buttler netter 9.
The Phoenix are off until Saturday when they take on a visiting Saint Louis Billikens squad Saturday.
That game at the Kress Events Center will begin at 4:00 p.m. and is being hailed as Girl Scout Day.
