The City of Sheboygan is getting some help from Washington for a project they are calling “Complete Streets.”
$200,000 is going to the project through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law out of a pool of over $11 million.
The “Complete Streets” policy, authorized earlier this month, aims to fix problems such as obstructed sidewalks, bumps in roads, ensuring bike lanes are well marked, and making travel easier for pedestrians, cyclists, and those on scooters.
The policy is aimed at those who are not in vehicles, but the City says that it actually makes travel safer for motorists as well.
The plan looks to be completely ready to go by the end of next year, with construction season 2025 being the start of the implementation.
