Every year, Seehafer Broadcasting hosts a Giving Tree Fundraiser aimed at a local non-profit.
This year, the program also aims to answer the age-old question: cats or dogs?
Donors are asked to bring in items for either cats or dogs and place them under the respective tree.
Fundraiser organizer Jenny Kanieski tells Seehafer News that making the Giving Trees a competition has been fun for the donors and for the staff.
“People bring their items in (and if) they bring something in for the cats, the cat people here start cheering. If there is more for the dog tree, then the dog people are cheering,” she explained. “It’s been fun for the station, and we are excited to see a lot of items come in for the animals.”
The items received will then go to Sandi Paws Pet Rescuer, which operates all over Eastern Wisconsin.
Jenny explains that they aren’t a home for the animals but rather a foster agency.
“The animals are not in shelters, they are in homes,” she noted. “Everything, when you foster, is provided by the fostering group. So Sandi Paws provides the food and blankets. By brining items in for them, it’s really helping these animals have a nice home.”
You can drop off your items at the Seehafer Broadcasting studios, located at 3730 Mangin Street in Manitowoc, between now and December 29th.
After the event is over, a winner will be crowned, either Garfield or Odie.
