A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit related to a 2019 officer-involved shooting in Eau Claire County, which resulted in the death of a local man, Tyler Meier.
The judge ruled against the excessive force claims connected to Meier’s death.
According to the police, Meier attacked an Augusta police officer, leading to the officer’s use of deadly force in self-defense.
Despite this dismissal, Meier’s family is pressing forward with a wrongful death suit in Eau Claire County court.
