Habitat for Humanity Lakeside is celebrating the start of their 51st home.
The foundation is set, and it is time to raise the first wall, which will be done during a ceremony this Thursday.
The home is being built at 822 Oakland Avenue in Sheboygan, with the wall being raised at 3:00 p.m.
The public is invited to attend the wall-raising ceremony, which will also feature Habitat for Humanity representatives, representatives from Drexel Building Supply, and future home buyer Adriana Hernandez Perez.
This home will be the second ADA-compliant home built by the local branch of Habitat for Humanity and will be the first with a garage.
Niki Zohrab, the Executive Director of the organization, says that while their homes usually don’t have a garage, “We always customize each home to meet the specific needs of the family who will reside there, and in this instance a garage will provide accessibility for everyday activities, ensuring the house is a perfect fit.”
