A Manitowoc man convicted of shooting and killing his friend at a Two Rivers home won’t be sentenced this month.
The court reporter for Judge Jerilyn Dietz tells Seehafer News that the lawyer for 21-year-old Joshua Walcott had another trial in another county and couldn’t make it Monday (December 11th).
He put in a request to move the sentencing date, which hasn’t been decided yet because the court is waiting on the district attorney’s office to offer a date that would work for them.
Walcott was found guilty by a jury in October of five different charges, including first-degree intentional homicide, use of a dangerous weapon, possession by a felon, 2nd-degree sexual assault, and bail jumping in the shooting death of Malachi Moore.
After Moore was shot, Walcott left the home, got rid of the gun, and came to Manitowoc before being arrested at a home the next day.
The shooting happened after an argument between the two men.
