Wisconsin’s Republican Assembly Speaker, Robin Vos, declared the University of Wisconsin’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) deal rejected by regents as the “last, best, and final offer.”
Vos, who has opposed DEI spending, withheld millions in pay raise funds and blocked approval for a UW-Madison engineering building.
Despite agreeing to release funds in exchange for changes to DEI spending, regents rejected the deal, resulting in financial repercussions for university workers and future investments.
