At the beginning of the football season, former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Evan Smith told Seehafer News that he saw greatness in Jordan Love.
Now, as the Packers are on a three-game winning streak, with an opportunity to run the table, Simth’s prediction appears to be coming true.
We caught up with the Super Bowl winner, and he said that the play-calling is a big reason for their renewed offensive success.
“(Coach Matt) LaFleur is doing a really good job of kinda letting it loose a little more,” he said. “Giving (Love) a little more confidence in the paly calls, and probably fitting it more around the things he likes to do.”
Another thing that has improved over the past three weeks is the run game.
Smith praised the Packers’ creativity in that aspect of the game.
“When you watch them, they haven’t really truly been running the outside zone, but they are accomplishing with Jaylen Reed, (Christian) Watson, with the jet sweep stuff,” Smith noticed. “(LaFleur) has been doing a really good job of keeping the edge clean and opening up the inside running lanes.”
Looking at Green Bay’s remaining schedule, including Monday night’s game against the New York Giants, Smith said the team should have the mentality of winning out and giving themselves a shot at the postseason.
Tonight’s game will be aired on 107.9 FM WOMT and at WOMTRadio.com starting at 5:03 p.m.
