
The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department is one of nineteen organizations around the state to receive a portion of $5.6 million in state grants.
The Office of Emergency Communications recently announced that the Sheriff’s Department would be getting just shy of $321,000.
The funding is to be used for projects related to equipment upgrades, advanced training necessary for Next Generation 9-1-1 implementation, and consolidation efforts.
Exactly what the Sheriff’s Office plans to use the cash for was not explicitly stated.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is getting the most from the state, coming in at over $515,000.
