A 50-year-old son is facing charges after he allegedly stole his mother’s vehicle.
Officers were called to a home in the 900 Block of East Linden Avenue just before 7:00 Monday morning (December 4th) on a stolen vehicle report.
When they spoke with the victim, they learned that the woman was allowing her adult son, who has a history of drug use, to live with her.
The woman told police she saw her son looking into her car at around 2:00 a.m. and talking to himself.
She asked him to come back inside and go to bed, but she realized both her son and her car were gone in the morning.
The next day, she called the police again, reporting that her son had come home, but the car was not with him.
Police found the man walking on the sidewalk nearby and noted that he was again talking to himself, but his words were incomprehensible.
He was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and around $900, which his mother had no explanation for.
He was arrested on charges of Taking and Operating a Vehicle Without the Owner’s Consent and Possession of Methamphetamine.
