There is one meeting on tap today in the City of Manitowoc.
The Finance Committee will be in the Council Chambers at 5:30 p.m., where they will give the public time to comment.
The group will then look over a proposed amendment to this year’s budget related to Visit Manitowoc before discussing election workers’ compensation for next year.
They will also look over a citizen’s fine dispute.
The citizen was fined for causing damage to a tree, which the city says is going to cause “premature death” of that tree.
In her dispute letter, the citizen noted that she did indeed crash into the tree last winter but said that due to the snowy conditions at the time and the lack of salt on the road, she had no control over the crash.
She also noted that the tree was fine over the summer and that the tree has been hit “numerous times in the past.”
Her full complaint can be found in the meeting agenda, which is linked above.
