A family in Allouez is without their pets after a weekend kitchen fire.
The Green Bay Metro Fire Department reports getting a call of a fire in the 1300 block of McCormick Street just after 5:30 Friday evening.
When they arrived, the single-story home was said to be filled with smoke.
Crews entered the kitchen and extinguished the flames within a couple of minutes, but the smoke took about 20 minutes to clear.
No humans were home at the time, but two canines in the residence died from undisclosed injuries.
The cause of the fire has not yet been revealed, but it did cause an estimated $65,000 in damage.
