A Milwaukee County supervisor and state lawmaker, Ryan Clancy, is pushing for amendments to Wisconsin’s police body camera law following an incident last month at the county zoo.
Clancy highlights concerns over delayed release and edits to footage depicting a deputy arresting two women in the zoo’s parking lot, wherein a deputy punched a woman three times in the chest.
Proposing alignment with Milwaukee’s regulations, Clancy urges the state and county to release body camera videos to families within 48 hours and to the public within 15 days in cases involving serious injury or death.
The complete video, released recently, reveals the arrested woman resisting officers and engaging in a physical altercation.
