
An incident outside of a Mexican restaurant in Appleton has landed a man in legal trouble.
A call came into the Appleton Police Department at around 11:15 Saturday morning reporting a fight in progress outside of Sangria’s Mexican Grill, located at 215 South Memorial Drive.
The caller reported that there was a gun involved.
When police arrived, they broke up the fight, and searched the building, where they located said gun.
This led to the arrest of 26-year-old Brian Kairu on charges of Armed Robbery, First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Operating a Firearm While Intoxicated, Theft, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, Disorderly Conduct, and two counts of Battery or Threat to Law Enforcement.
This incident is said to be unrelated to a shooting that occurred at around 2:00 Saturday morning.
