The woman who sustained a gunshot wound to the hip in Adams County during a hunting incident has decided not to pursue charges.
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reported that the woman was accidentally shot by a deer hunter while walking her dog.
The victim, who knows the hunter personally, described the incident as an honest mistake and will not be pressing charges.
The DNR clarified that the hunter fired at the sound, and the victim was one of two individuals injured during the opening weekend of gun season.
