Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, has donated $1.25 million to a Wisconsin nonprofit dedicated to addressing homelessness.
The Wisconsin Balance of State Continuum of Care confirmed that the Bezos Day One Family Fund provided the donation.
The organization coordinates services for homeless shelters, with a focus on aiding families without a place to live.
The group assists several resource centers in the Chippewa Valley, including Sojourner House, Western Dairyland, and Family Promise.
The grant money will be allocated to one of the 21 regional coalitions.
