Democratic lawmakers in Wisconsin are proposing “health herd” deer hunting laws, aiming to allocate millions of dollars for Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) prevention.
The proposed plans include using $2 million for enhanced CWD testing research and an additional $2 million to address deer carcass disposal across the state.
State Rep. Katrina Shankland emphasizes the significance of maintaining a healthy deer population to sustain Wisconsin’s hunting tradition.
