Deer hunters in Wisconsin had a less successful opening weekend of gun season this year, harvesting 10,000 fewer deer compared to the previous year.
The Department of Natural Resources attributes the decline to unfavorable weather conditions and a reduction in the number of antlerless deer.
The second weekend of gun deer season in the state is set to conclude on Sunday.
