A judge in Chippewa Falls approved a settlement in the case involving Madalyn Zwiefelhofer, a Girl Scout injured in a 2018 crash caused by Colten Treu.
The settlement involves Treu, his insurance company, and several local businesses.
Treu, who was driving under the influence near Lake Hallie, struck the Girl Scouts, resulting in Madalyn’s serious injuries and the tragic death of three other girls.
The settlement aims to assist with the mounting medical expenses incurred by Madalyn’s family since the accident.
Colten Treu is currently serving a 54-year sentence for his role in the crash.
