A Maribel man has been sentenced after fleeing from police last year.
26-year-old Tony J. Brantmeier pleaded guilty to a charge of Fleeing or Eluding an Officer, and Judge Jeilyn Dietz ordered him to spend two and a half years on probation.
Brantmeier was out on bail for a previous matter when he started fleeing from a Manitowoc Police officer after leaving the Probation and Parole Office.
He was said to be traveling at around 40 miles per hour on Johnston Drive, where the posted speed limit is 25.
The chase came to an end when Brantmeier’s vehicle ended up in the ditch near the intersection of Johnston and Goodwin Road.
He will also spend 60 days in jail under the Huber Law, must maintain full-time employment, schooling, or a combination, and must undergo treatment or counseling as deemed appropriate by the court.
