Constance “Connie” Kubichka, age 76, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay.
She was born June 13, 1947 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Elmer “Lefty” and Helen (Mahnke) Engelbrecht. Connie attended Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 1965. On June 6, 1970, she married Roger Kubichka. Connie was employed with United Savings and Loan for 27 years, through various name changes over the years. She was also employed at the office of Dr. Judy Krings and Wisconsin Nationwide Transport, retiring in 2004. Connie was a past officer with Habitat for Humanity. Her hobbies included bowling, golf, and playing cards. She also enjoyed baking, shopping, and bus trips to casinos.
Connie is survived by her loving husband of 53 years: Roger Kubichka; her step-son: Thomas Kubichka; three siblings: Ann (Bill) Tompson, Sue (Ron) Leschke, and Michael (Ellie) Engelbrecht; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Richard (LouAnne) Kubichka, Lori (Gene) Gauthier, Chris Green, and Karen Kanski; as well as many nieces and nephews, and their families, who were very special to Connie. She is further survived by other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Elmer “Lefty” and Helen Engelbrecht; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Stanley and Emily Kubichka; an infant brother-in-law: David Kubichka; and four brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Ron (Lucy) Kubichka, Randy Kubichka, Brad Green, and Walter Kanski.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 North Water Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Alan Boeldt. Following the service, Connie will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Guests will be invited to a luncheon following the service.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Connie’s name to Manitowoc County Habitat for Humanity, 1209 South 41st Street, Manitowoc.
