Governor Tony Evers Official Portrait
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has recently announced that he will approve one of the election reforms proposed by Republican lawmakers.
Specifically, the governor has stated that he will sign the plan which allows local election clerks to count absentee ballots on the Monday before Election Day.
This proposal is one of several election-related measures that were approved by Republicans in the State Assembly.
Some of the other proposals include new rules for indefinitely confined voters, a plan to send text messages to people who vote with absentee ballots, and three election-related constitutional amendments.
It is important to note that while the governor is not required to sign the other proposals, voters will have the opportunity to decide on two of the amendments in the coming year.
