Republic leaders in Wisconsin are claiming the Wisconsin Elections Commission misled the public and flip-flopped on the appointment of a new elections administrator.
Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu and Speaker Robin Voss issued a joint statement, where they said that the Democrat-appointed commissioners to the Wisconsin Elections Commission changed their tune on their ability to appoint a new elections administrator.
The legislators point to previous statements made by the commission where they said they did not have the ability to do that.
However, the duo say that the commission’s “latest court filing now argues that they have had the power to appoint an administrator all along.”
Senator LeMahieu of Oostburg said that the group misled Wisconsinites and cast doubt on election administration, and should “do their job, appoint an administrator, and save taxpayers this needless litigation.”
Speaker Voss echoed the sentiment saying “It’s time to end the lawsuit and for WEC to replace Meagan Wolfe.”
