The man facing carjacking charges in Appleton will be facing a jury trial next year.
51-year-old Jay Scott was in court on Monday where he entered a not-guilty plea, meaning he will go on trial.
Scott was arrested in early October after he allegedly approached a woman and her child as they were getting into their car, and demanded she take money from her account at an ATM.
When they stopped at a stoplight, the woman and child were able to flee, and a witness called police.
Scott was quickly arrested on charges of Armed Carjacking, Kidnapping, Forceful Abduction of a Child, Armed Robbery, Theft of Movable Property, and Felony Bail Jumping.
His trial is slated to begin on January 23rd.
