A local veterans group is being honored.
Patriot Riders of America WI Chapter 2 is one of 27 non-profit organizations in Wisconsin to be been named a “2023 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits and is one of only three veteran-related groups.
The Patriot Riders are a relatively new group, but they have made a huge impact.
The group of bikers operates in Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Calumet, Brown, Kewaunee, and Door Counties, and has participated in community events to help create a safe environment for Veterans, children, and community members, and has held memorial escort services for Veterans and their families among many other tasks.
Jenny Matte, the Treasurer of the organization responded to the news, saying “We are proud of our accomplishments this year, including Operation Precious Cargo, in which we provided an escort for a memorial bench created by Operation Creekside out of California for a fallen Marine Veteran.”
