Governor Tony Evers has filed a lawsuit against several Republican lawmakers for their actions regarding pay raises for University of Wisconsin employees and the rejection of conservation projects.
Evers argues that the actions taken by GOP lawmakers, who have control over several committees, constitute violations of the state constitution.
These actions include blocking pay adjustments for 35,000 UW employees, halting projects associated with the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program, and preventing updates to ethical standards for social workers, counselors, and marriage and family therapists.
Evers is calling upon the state Supreme Court to expedite the handling of this case.
