Law enforcement officials in Waupaca County suspect that alcohol played a role in a tragic accident that claimed the life of a man who was attempting to assist another motorist.
The incident occurred during the overnight hours, transitioning into Sunday morning on County Highway W, near Caledonia.
According to deputies, a Good Samaritan had stopped to offer assistance when another vehicle struck him, resulting in his untimely demise.
The second driver was subsequently located and taken into custody.
Prosecutors are expected to receive the case later today.
