The unemployment rate in both the City and County of Manitowoc went down over the past month.
According to stats released by the Department of Workforce Development, the City of Manitowoc’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for September came in at 3.4%, which is down significantly from August’s rate of 4.2%.
However, that is up slightly from last September’s rate of 3.0%.
The County’s unemployment rate is similarly down, now sitting at 3.2% when compared to August’s 3.7%.
But again, that is up from last September’s rate of 2.6%.
The City of Sheboygan is reporting in at 3.2%, down three-tenths of a percent from the previous month and up half a percent from last year.
Sheboygan County also reported a noticeable drop in unemployment, coming in at 2.8% compared to 3.1% in August, but up from 2.5% in September 2022.
