
State investigators are taking charge of the inquiry into a fatal shooting involving law enforcement at a middle school in Germantown.
The Department of Justice has disclosed that Germantown Police received a distress call around 6:30 p.m. Monday regarding an individual displaying erratic behavior in the parking lot of Kennedy Middle School.
Subsequently, the individual scaled the school’s roof and discharged a firearm at officers.
In response, Germantown Police returned fire, resulting in the fatality of the individual.
None of the roughly 60 students inside the school at that time were injured.
The Department of Justice has not disclosed the identity of the deceased individual, nor have they identified the officers involved.
