A Manitowoc man who was arrested by SWAT officers in 2022 has been sentenced.
33-year-old Eleazar Camacho-Perez pleaded guilty to a charge of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, and was ordered by Judge Robert Dewane to spend 30 days in the County Jail, but was given credit for 30 days time served.
Judge Dewane also withheld sentencing on a charge of Battery by Prisoners. Camacho-Perez was arrested in June of last year after officers were called to a home in the 2000 block of Johnston Drive on a report of Camacho-Perez attempting to break in.
The officers were informed that he had a gun and was firing shots outside. SWAT was called after Camacho-Perez gained entrance to the home and refused to cooperate with authorities.
He was eventually detained with no injuries reported to anyone involved.
