Most of the calls to the Manitowoc Fire and Rescue Department still involve falls.
The department’s 2023 September report shows that there were 88 falls in 2022, while there have been 82 so far in 2023.
There were 443 total incidents in September with 62 fire department calls at 381 for EMS.
As 2023 ends in about two months, the transport and calls per day are still lower than in 2022.
On average in 2022, there were about 14 calls a day and about 10 transports while in 2023 there have been about 13 calls a day with about 9 transports.
The busiest fire station that’s received the most calls is one on Franklin Street with 122 calls so far this year.
