Jordan J. Leavy-Carter
The Green Bay man facing charges in a child’s death last year now knows when his jury trial will be.
36-year-old Jordan Leavy-Carter will be in court for his trial on June 17th of next year, just over a year and a half after 5-year-old Skye Bleu Evans-Cowley died from a gunshot wound.
The child was said to be playing with a gun that belonged to Leavy-Carter when it discharged.
The weapon was reported to have been left on a TV stand in reach of the child.
After the child was shot, Leavy-Carter fled the scene and was arrested a few days later in Beloit.
He has been charged 2nd Degree Reckless Homicide, Neglecting a Child Resulting in Death, and being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Leavy-Carter previously pleaded not guilty, and his trial is expected to last five days.
