
The City of Manitowoc’s Building Inspection report has been released for the month of September.
According to the report, the current projects underway are valued at just over $54 million, with two projects costing over $4 million.
The Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry expansion is leading the charge, costing an estimated $4.8 million while the Bright Horizon paper pellet storage building on North 8th Street is a close second at just under $4.4 million.
The Kwik Trip rebuild on Menasha Avenue is third at $2 million while a warehouse project for Seehafer Specialized Logistics on Viebahn Street comes in at just over $1.8 million.
Robinson Metal’s loading dock project is costing just over $1.5 million and the J-Mart project at the former Vogel Auto Body shop is estimated to cost just under $1.36 million.
There were two other projects started last month, those being a roof replacement at Lakeside Foods, which is costing just over $727,000, and the alteration of a procedure room at the Bellin Health Clinic on Custer Street, which comes in at just over $191,000.
After two years of increases, 2023 is likely to fall well short of last year’s $112 million in commercial projects, and 2021’s final total of just shy of $90 million.
